BB gun or Pellet gun?

We have a bad squirrel/ vermin problem in our garden so im going to do some hunting. My bb gun doesn't have enough stopping power to do the job so I dont know if i should by another bb gun or buy a pellet gun.
Do pellets ricochet?
What has better acuracy?
Whats better overal?
